Claude Code

Connect uSMART MCP to Claude Code — order queries, pre-trade checks and (opt-in) trading.

Updated 2026-10-21

Local clients run usmart-mcp over stdio: credentials stay in ~/.usmart on your machine, and the first call opens the browser for uSMART authorization.

Where to find it

Terminal

Configuration

claude-code
bash
claude mcp add --env USMART_READONLY=1 usmart -- uvx --from usmart-mcp==1.2.0 usmart-mcp

Finish authorization

  1. Install Python 3.10+ and uv
  2. Add usmart-mcp to the client with the configuration above
  3. The first call opens the browser for uSMART authorization
  4. Stay on USMART_READONLY=1 and verify with check_trade_credentials and list_today_orders

The first call opens a browser for OAuth; tokens refresh afterwards. The command already sets USMART_READONLY=1; once read-only checks work and you want to trade, remove --env USMART_READONLY=1 and add it again.
